When should I visit a skin specialist?

From the acne clear and acne care perspective, if we feel that our acne is persistent or potentially lead to serious acne scars and we have tried what we consider to be a reasonable acne treatment course with over-the-counter and/or acne prescription medications, that would be the time we may want to consider consulting a dermatologist (i.e. a dermatologist is a medical doctors who specialize in all conditions of our skin, hair, and nails issues) for our acne.

In fact, dermatologists specialize in the treatment of acne, as well as many other skin conditions, and know about the latest trends in acne treatment options to help us control our acne as quickly as possible.

However, not everyone needs to see a dermatologist to have his or her acne treated. In fact, many people with mild to moderate acne do very well with over-the-counter acne treatments that are widely available. From the acne clear and acne care point of views, we should try at least one or several over-the-counter or prescription acne treatments before consulting a dermatologist.
