Can I have my lip and face waxed while I am using topical acne treatment such as Retin-A?

It is advisable to stop the Retin-A (i.e. medication commonly used to treat acne vulgaris and the compound is in the vitamin A family) topical acne treatment for about 5 to 7 days before and 2 days after having our lips, brows or face waxed in order to minimize irritation and burning from the procedure.

Even if we applied the retinoid to only our forehead and cheeks, the skin on the upper lip can still be sensitive to waxing or other potentially irritating procedures and acne treatments. Good news is that other areas of our body that are not being treated with Retin-A will not get affected (which shall include legs and bikini) and can undergo waxing procedures as usual.
